Being Human // Human Being
Meet Rose
Hello, I am a therapist located in Portland, OR. I worked as a graphic design professional for many years in San Francisco. I’m also a certified yoga teacher and I’ve studied holistic health practices as well. When I was pregnant with my now 10 year old I knew it was time to integrate some of my holistic health related passions and interests into my working life. My first experience with the field of counseling came from completing a training in grief and loss with a hospice in San Francisco. I then went on to complete my masters degree in art therapy, training and volunteering as a grief and loss facilitator for children and families, and completing internships with cancer patients and with children, teens, and families experiencing support needs around neurodiversity, adjustment to change and transition, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and trauma.
My current work centers around adults seeking a supportive space to feel seen and heard while exploring the self and finding ways to meet needs that come with mental health challenges. All humans have the need to connect with others, to feel loved despite relational wounds, and to feel safe in relationships. Often times a step toward meeting healthy connection needs after relational wounding is to work with a therapist to re-establish trust and build healthy relational skills.
